The Bloodborne Pathogens standard (8 CCR§5193) addresses the problem of transmittable disease organisms or other potential infectious materials that are carried in human blood, and to which employees are predictably exposed in certain occupations.

  • Determination of Bloodborne Pathogen exposures
  • Documentation of exposure measurements and advising employees of results
  • Exposure control measures meeting applicable standards
  • Record keeping of employee exposure to bloodborne pathogens on site
  • Proper waste management, labeling and sign implementation
  • Advising for Hepatitis B vaccinations
  • Employee training
  • Determination of post-exposure follow-up procedure
