The Emergency Action Plan Standard (8 CCR§3220) requires every employer to plan appropriate actions for employee safety in advance of foreseeable emergencies. This standard applies to all employers, private and public, irrespective of business activity, industry or number of employees.

The Emergency Action Plan service includes:

  • Emergency escape or evacuation procedures drills
  • Procedures to be followed by employees who remain to operate critical plant operations before they evacuate
  • Establishment of appropriate assembly meeting points
  • Procedures to account for all employees after emergency evacuation is completed
  • Establishment of key personnel used to evacuate the buildings
  • Establishment of the appropriate alarm systems
  • Rescue and medical duties for those employees who are to perform them
  • Organization of Emergency Response Team (ERT) The preferred means of reporting fires and other emergencies
  • Names of responsible contact personnel
