VSI’s MERT training classes are taught in a relaxed, hands on atmosphere. Employees will learn about and practice the following life saving skills:
- Primary & Secondary Assessment
- Respiration-Perfusion-Mental Status Assessment (RPM)
- Airway, Breathing & Circulation (Initial Assessment)
- Identification of the radial and carotid pulse
- Performing the logroll
- Implementing the Heimlich maneuver (breathing and non-breathing individuals)
- Angina & Heart attack (recognizing signs & symptoms)
- Stroke (recognizing signs & symptoms)
- Shock Management (types of shock-diabetic-stress-anaphylactic)
- Seizure
